BILLINGS, MT -- MyTopo.com, a popular online mapping website, today announced the availability of hunt area topographic maps in eight Western States. The new map series contain clearly-marked public land ownership with 2006 State hunt area boundaries. Hunters drawing draw big game tags for a specific hunt area or game management units can call1-877-587-9004 (toll-free) or send an email to sales@mytopo.com to order a “Hunt Area Map.”
The Hunt Area Maps are available for: Arizona, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Colorado hunt area maps are available through MyTopo partner, www.huntdata.com.
When an order is placed, MyTopo cartographers will center the customer’s hunt area on a 1:100,000 Bureau of Land Management (BLM) topo basemap. The customer can specify the map’s size, paper type (waterproof, glossy, or laminated) and whether they would like the map rolled or folded. The maps are waterproof, and the size is pre-defined based on the size of the hunt area. Some areas require more than one map. MyTopo will print and ship the map order within 24 hours. The maps range in price from $9.95 for an 18” x 24” map to $29.95 for a 36” x 48” map. Lamination is available for an extra fee.
“We are pleased to offer this service; we have been getting requests for topo maps with hunt units marked on them for years,” said Kevin Toohill, Founder of MyTopo.com. “These maps will be a great tool for hunters to scout potential hunting areas, plan travel routes and inspect the terrain. A larger-scaled map, like a 1:24,000 topo or aerial map, of a more specific area can be ordered as a companion map.”
